Week 16


Hello Everyone,


This week, we've been working through a variety of growing pains as we transition into 3D. There have been various technical designs that need to get changed in order to support the more complicated 3D art path. As such we've spent a fair amount of time refactoring parts of the code for better performance and getting the building "set" into the world.


Surger 2.0: Still not quite happy with the design. But Progress!


One major change is how resources nodes work. Now resources have two different appearances instead of just the simple backdrop of green or yellow. The miner/extractor building then "clamps" onto those nodes visually as seen below:


With the addition of the miner/extractor, the game is now populated with 100% assets for building! We will most certainly go back and update/cleanup the concepts in the future, but for now, this will be our first pass.
